We are so saddened to have come to this conclusion, there has been much thought and consideration put into this decision. With this being said, we will no longer be holding a 2020-2021 dance year. The space we were planning to lease has fallen through. We have searched for a new space and cannot find a building that will fulfill the needs for a studio. As well as the restrictions in place from the health department due to COVID-19.  For those of you who have already sent Venom payments those payments will be sent back to you. 2020-2021 Registration Information

I am so excited for the upcoming dance year and taking over Sweet Pea! I want to take a second to let you know about myself and my plans for Sweet Pea. My name is Morgan Bybee, I have taught and helped Hayley with the studio for the last 8 years. I taught classes for the first 4 years and loved every minute of it. I have assisted Hayley behind the scenes for the last 4 learning the ins and outs. I plan to keep Sweet Pea very much the same, I have teachers Mikell and Liz returning from last year. Kasidy is also going to come back this year, she taught for Sweet Pea for 3 years in the past. I also have 2 new teachers this year Katelyn and Makayla. I am so excited to add them to the team! 

The blog has been updated, please take a look at the different pages to get informed on any new updates. A few things I want to note - first being the new location! I think the new location is going to be a much better fit than Castle Manor. It is located directly across the highway from the old studio and the castle. The address is 110 East 4000 North Unit E, Hyde Park. Classes are going to start a week later (September 14-17) this year and that is due to the new location and the renovations we need to complete. 

Covid: with schools deciding to move forward I decided we will also move forward. We will be taking all the necessary precautions. We will have sanitizer at the studio and will have the dancers sanitize before and after class. Please feel free to send your dancer in a mask if you would like but at this time we will not be requiring it.

Pricing: September's monthly tuition is going to be reduced to half the normal price ($16) because there will only be half the amount of classes this month. Registration will be $25, both of these payments will be due the first week of classes. 

The new schedule has been posted and updated. Please look at this and choose which class will be the best fit for your daughter. If you have any questions about which class to place your daughter in please email, call or text me! Registration will open tomorrow Tuesday morning at 9:00, after you have submitted your registration form I will begin to confirm the class with you. It will take me a day or two to get all the dancers placed so if you haven't got a confirmation email by Friday please send an email with the class time you requested and your daughter's name. When registering sometimes the box won't scroll down so hit your tab button to make sure the form gets fully completed. If you refer a new dancer your registration fee will be discounted to $15. Please send me an email stating which dancer you referred and your dancer's name so that I can make a note for the discount.

Wednesday Class Time Changes

After talking with a few parents and our teachers we have decided to keep the Wednesday morning class times the same. So the Wednesday morning classes will stay at 10:00 and 11:00. 

We WILL be changing the Wednesday at 1:30 class to 1:45.

2019-2020 first week of class reminders

As many of you may know we have changed locations. we haven't moved too far though, our classes will be held at the Castle Manor the address is 170 W 3900 N Hyde Park. You will enter the front doors and we will be in the room on your right! All of your teachers will make sure the dancers know where to go so that everyone is comfortable with this change. Please note that due to the safety of your dancers we would like everyone to refrain from parking/driving under the balcony that leads up to the front door and if you have young children to come in and walk them out to the car. We don't want to see anyone get hurt and this is to prevent anything from happening. 

Classes will start on Tuesday, September 3rd so no Monday classes next week.

Parents are welcome to sit in on class the first week but we ask that you try to either wait outside of the classroom or come back to pick up your children the following weeks. We have found that not only do your dancers act better but our teachers feel more comfortable and are able to work with your dancers better. 

Please make sure that you pay your registration fee and as well as the first month of dance tuition. 

Many people wonder what they should wear to dance. Anything that your dancer can move in is acceptable. This includes leggings, leotards, track shorts, etc. please try your best to not wear jeans to class, they are hard to move in and can be uncomfortable. please were your hair back and out of your face.  All of our mini and tiny tots classes should wear a pair of ballet slippers, we will also wear these at the recital. Note: the floor in the studio is very slick so some of the slip-on ballet slippers might be to slick for the studio floor. 

We also will be giving anyone who refers a friend who signs up for class and mentions them HALF OFF their registration fee. Just have the person you refer mention you or your daughter when then register and we will apply this discount to your account.

Registration 2019-2020 Starts Today

It's finally time to get your dancer registered and excited for the upcoming year! Registering is super easy. If you haven't registered with us before here are 4 easy steps:

1. Take a look at the schedule and find the class or classes that best fit your dancer and your schedule.
2. Click the register tab
3. Fill out parents name, email, phone number, dancers name, dancers age, and the class or classes you would like to sign up for.
4. Leave the rest to us

There are a few things I want to remind everyone of

• There are a few discounts that we do offer and all of those can be found on the pricing page
• If you decide you want to switch classes that is just fine! Just send us an email and we will get you switched into the new class 
• If you are unsure of which class to put your dancer in please feel free to call, text or email us. We will do our best to respond to all questions as soon as we can
• There are always classes that fill up fast... we want to keep classes small but we want everyone to be in the class that works best for them and their dancer so register as soon as possible.
• Our TWO giveaways are still going on on our social media pages where there will be TEN lucky winners. Don't forget to enter!

2019-2020 Registration

August is here and we are gearing up for the upcoming dance registration. We had so much fun with the girls last year and we cant wait to see some familiar faces this year. 

A few things we want everyone to be aware of:

We have had a sudden change of plans when it comes to the location and where we will be hosting classes this year. But we are so excited about the opportunity to have a fresh new place to call our dance home! We won't be able to release much information about this new location until we have everything finalized... just know that we will continue to stay in the Hyde Park/North Logan area! 

Our Prices have changed slightly so be sure to check out the pricing page on the blog to see details about that. I can give you my guarantee we are still the lowest price in the valley.

We are also excited to be revamping the schedule and trying to add a few more class options to allow your dancers the opportunity to make greater improvements in their dance skill and ability this year! Class names will be different but there is something for everyone. All classes have a description at the bottom of the schedule page on the blog.

We have also added two new classes, Ballet Barre and Dance Technique. These are 30-minute classes and can be taken individually or alongside the regular class times. These classes are meant to help students see greater improvement in their dancing ability and to spend time in the classroom learning and perfecting new skills. We are encouraging all of our student that are 8 and older to take one of these classes but they are open to whoever would like to take them. 

Registration will open on Wednesday, August 7th. The new schedule was put up on the blog last night so be sure to take a look at it and see what has changed and what classes might work with your dancer and your schedule! We always have a few classes that fill up quickly so if you have a specific class that you want your daughter in make sure you sign up as soon as possible. 

We are also hosting a few giveaways to get everyone excited about this upcoming year. You could win a free month of dance or a fun surprise for your little dancer! these giveaways can be found on our Facebook and Instagram pages and are super easy to enter! Dance Registration 2018-2019

DANCE REGISTRATION WILL START MONDAY AUGUST 6th 2018 it will all be done on the BLOG. The new schedule will be up Sunday night. 

We are super excited for a new year. I have most of the teachers coming back from last year so I'm super excited.

Dance starts this week

We are so excited for dance to start this week. The first day of class is this Wednesday September 6th, Thursday September 7th, Monday September 11th, Tuesday September 12th. You should have gotten an email saying we got your registration form and that we got your daughter in the class you wanted. 

I will be making a list of all the classes and times and will send that out Tuesday. If you don't want your daughter's name on the list for everyone to see please just email me and I will just put their initials on the class lists. 

Some of our classes have small numbers in them if I can't get 5 girls in those classes I will have to combine them with another class. Below are the classes that need  more girls in them

Also I need to change a few of the times on a few classes. My teachers are coming from USU and are a little worried they will be cutting it a little close to make it to class on time...so I don't want that to be a problem. It's just behind Freckle Farms the plant store and north of the castle looking building. We are on the NORTH side of the redbrick white siding building. There is a sign that says SWEET PEA DANCE and you can come through the north doors. 

Payment will be done on the first day of class. You will need to include your registration fee of $20.00 and your first month of tuition $28.00 and then if you have a second daughter taking it's $23.00 for her. If you refer a new dancer you get your first month of tuition for 1/2 price. 

Payments can be done by checks, written out to SWEET PEA DANCE CO. Cash, if you do cash please put in an envelope which we have out at dance with your daughters name and amount paid. Bill Pay, which you do through your bank and just add me as a payee and add my address: 2444 North 1250 East. North Logan, UT 8434. Venom which is an app you download to your phone and you add me as a friend and can send me payment through you phone. My name on venom is @SweetPea-Dance.

Payment is due by the 7th of each month or with holidays the first week of dance that month. 

There is a $10.00 late fee for late payment. We will send home reminders if payment isn't made on time. 

What to wear to dance....we aren't super picky on what to wear. We like girls in things that they can move easy in. Please don't feel like you have to go out and buy all new dance clothes. Leo's(pink, black or any color) and tights, ballet skirts are great, or a t-shirt and leggings. Have your girls wear what they feel comfortable in. If you are going to buy ballet shoes please buy pink ones. Most of the little girls classes and all ballet classes will be wearing pink ballet shoes in the recital. 

On the first day of dance your welcome to stay for the first of dance to make sure you dancer is doing okay but I find that the girls do so much better if they don't see their parent/grandparents in the back watching. I also find my teachers are better teachers with out lots of eyes watching. If there is a problem we will contact you and make those arrangements if needed. We will have show off days where you can come and watch what they have been learning later in the year. 

Our recital will be in May sometime not sure on the date yet. I'm trying to get Green Canyon High School so I'm just waiting on them to get their schedule worked out. I will let you know as soon as I hear. Also we will be preforming sometime in February at the new Maple Springs retirement center. So just watch for dates for that after Christmas. 

Also your registration fee includes a T-shirt we probably won't hand those out tell after Christmas.

Then click on the registration link and fill out the form and hit send, you should receive an email within 48 hours letting you know if we were able to get you in the class you wanted. Reminder each girl will need to bring their own pair of BLACK LEGGINGS for solo drill as well as their Screaming in Color T-shirt. Please let me know if you have a problem finding or getting black leggings. 

We are having PICTURES May 9th - May 12th during your daughters regular dance time. They will come to dance wearing costume 1 (the costume that you have at home already) If you sent it in to get altered we will hand out May 2nd - May 5th at dance. If not done you can come to picture day with hair and make-up done and just change at dance. We really want ALL GIRLS to be in group pictures so even if you don't want to buy them please try and come so we can have all girls in team pictures to display at recital. We will be sending home (May 2nd - May 5th) of paper as well as a email of the picture prices. You will need to bring that back the day of pictures of what you want to buy. 

We will send another email of how hair and make-up needs to be done the week before pictures.

Okay after lots of thought I think we better keep our recital on SATURDAY June 4th. It's most liking will be at Sky View but we are having a few issues so it that doesn't work out we will be having it at Mt. Logan Middle school. I will keep you posted on the location but the times will always stay the same. The dress rehearsal will be done that morning in two different groups so girls don't have to be at the dress rehearsal for longer then they need too. We are doing a solo drill where each girl gets their name called out and get to show you something they learned throughout the year. During the solo's each girl will be wearing the 

T-shirts that we just handed out along with black leggings. Each girl is responsible to bring their own leggings. They can be any style, Long or short. If you can't get any please let me know and we can help you find some.  

If anyone wants me to order tights for the recital I'll be placing an order the first of may. If you have them paid for with your May tuition I will be placing the order May 8th. If your payment is not made my then I will not be able to order them with my order. For all children sizes they will be $7.00 and adult sizes are $8.00 this includes shipping.  Please put a sticky note on your payment that you want them and what size and color: Tan or Black, footless or footed.  I will order all the same color in the tan color so they are all the same. Below is what  you need for you classes tights in case you forgot. The tan footless are a little hard to find and can be expensive if you buy them at dance stores in town.

Recital

I just got off the phone with Sky View and this whole time i thought the last day of School was Friday the 3rd but its Thursday the 2nd for Cache Valley School.  So he told me they have the auditorium available on the Friday if we want to do the recital Friday instead of Saturday. So i'm thinking it would be kind of nice to have it the day after school is out so we can start our summer. Sense i've been saying Saturday in all the emails I wanted to check with everyone first to make sure that Friday will work for everyone. Please let me know if you CAN'T make FRIDAY JUNE 3rd work as soon as possible I need to let Sky View know. If if we have people that can't make Friday we will just stick with Saturday. Also remember that we do the dress rehearsal that same day so we would have the dress rehearsal that same day as well. Sorry for the confusion.

April Dance

Hope everyone had a great SPRING BREAK. We should have all normal classes the month of April. We have lots to work on to get ready for the recital. Please try and have girls make it to class, we will start working on their solo's that they will get to preform at the recital.

I hope the girls had a good time preforming at Sunshine Terrance. They really enjoyed it and called and said they hope we come back every year.  I know there was a few costumes that needed some extra alternating. If you didn't like how your daughters costume fit. Will you put pins in the areas that you would like changed with a note inside with details and send the costume with your daughter this week or next to dance and we will send them to the seamstress and get them fixed. 

Tuition is due this week. April 4th- 7th. There is still a few that haven't paid for their second costume fee. I will email you individually. 

We will be sending home their T-Shirts this week at dance. Please let me know if you didn't get one. Also please make sure that they don't loose them we will be wearing them in the recital for their solo drill. 

With your May tuition there will be a fee of $15.00 per girls for the recital to cover the cost of the rental of using SKY VIEW where we do our Recital at. That can be paid with your May tuition. 

Pictures will be done in May. I'm still working with the photographer on those details I will get that to you as soon as she knows. 

Make sure your calendar is marked for JUNE 4th for our recital. We do the dress rehearsal that same day in the morning. Most likely from 10:30-12:30. We will give you details in a few weeks. Then the recital is that night at 6:30 p.m.

Just a little heads up for next week when we preform at SUN SHINE TERRANCE. 

-MONDAY and WEDNESDAY classes will perfume on WEDNESDAY (23rd) night at 6:00 p.m. Please have girls there 15 min early.

-TUESDAY and THURSDAY classes will preform on TUESDAY (22nd) night  at 6:00 p.m.

-The address is 248 west 300 North. The parking isn't great so you n=might have to park out on the roads and walk in front doors and we will have somewhere showing you where to go. 

-COSTUMES - Some classes will be given costumes this week at dance. Some will have to get them at the Sun Shine Terrance that day. My costume lady that is altering all of the costumes does all the costumes for the ballet and is behind on those and won't have ours done tell Monday of next week. They will have plenty of places to change at Sun Shine Terrance. Just come a little early to make sure you have time to change. Sorry for the inconvenience. 

If you get your costume this week or if you just get it the day of the performance please remember when you take them back home with you to PLEASE keep them in the bags and away from the girls so they won't playing in them or  loose pieces or break something. The other costumes will be handed out the week before we do pictures in May.

Most of the costumes come with a hair piece...just bring them with you and your teacher will shoe you wear to put them so they are all the same. 

Tan tights are a little hard to find...especially footless tights. Wal-Mart has footed tights for under $5.00 in black and sometimes tan but if you can't find cheap footless one you can always just cut the toes off. I do have a website that I like to use. It's www.discountdance.com   They have child and adult sizes. They run from $4.95 - $5.95 and i'm not sure on shipping. But I like the light suntan color.  If you can't find them or want to order them and don't have time. It's totally fine if they preform at Sun Shine Terrance without tights. But they will need them for the recital. 

If your daughter is in a class thats not doing dance 2 please take off $6.00 off your April tuition. Wish we could of made it it work for everyone. 

NO NORMAL CLASSES THE WEEK WE PREFORM. The Performance will count as our class this week.

Also parents and family members are welcome to come watch at Sun Shine Terrance but we just need to be courteous to all the residence that are there to watch. Let's just make sure they are in the front so they can see. It can get a little tricky with all the wheel chairs and walkers but we are hoping there is a little more room at Sun Shine Terrance then past places we have danced. 

We are so excited for the girls to get to preform and wear their costumes. They have been working so hard. 

For THURSDAY 4:30 and 5:30 classes only

First off I just want to apologies about last Thursdays class. Both teachers Maddy and Ashley were on college spring break and we got a sub for the classes and she totally spaced it and didn't show up. Then it happened that I was on a cruise with my husbands family and had no cell service. I am so sorry and totally understand what's its like to have multiple kids your trying to get to different activities and all the logistics it can be to get them to point  A to point B. We want to do whatever to make it up to you. We will offer a make-up class the week they preform at Sun Shine Terrance. So as well as preforming on Tuesday night they will have their regular classes on Thursday night at 4:30 or 5:30. If you are upset please feel free to call me and I will try and work something out to compensate you. Thanks for you understanding.  

March Dance

Just a few things for March....

 

We decided to have the girls preform at the SUN SHINE TERRANCE on March 22 (Tuesday) and March 23 (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m. We had to split it into two nights with there being so many girls. So if you class is on TUESDAY or THURSDAY day or night you will be preforming on Tuesday the 22nd. If your class is on MONDAY or WEDNESDAY you will be preforming on Wednesday the 23rd. We will have girls be there by 5:40 p.m. all ready in costumes. We will be handing the costumes out the follow week. If you aren't at dance that day you will need to contact me to pick up your costume or you can come early to the performance and get ready there. 

I have had d few classes costumes already altered, but a few classes won't be done in time so we might have to safety pin a few classes. I apologies  but my seamstress is really backed up, on other companies she sews for. 

We are preforming the first dance that they learned from September - December. So if you daughter added in January and isn't doing dance one they are welcome to come and watch but they won't be preforming. You can take -5 off your tuition with them missing that week of dance. If you already paid for March take it off your April tuition. I hope that is okay.

This week that the girls will be preforming at Sun Shine Terrance this will count as their dance for this week (March21st - March 24th) So NO normal classes this week just the performance.

*For MONDAY 4:30 class only-

Danielle was telling me that some of the girls said they don't want to preform at the Sun Shine Terrance. I think its good practice for the girls. So lets plan on them preforming and if your daughter really doesn't want to preform will you please let me know. 

Also we won't be having dance the week of SPRING BREAK which is March 28th-March 31st

So make sure you put that on your calendar. Hope everyone has a great Spring Break!!!

Also if you haven't already paid for costume two....total is depending on your class. If you don't know your total please call or text me and I can let you know. Please make sure it is paid before Spring Break. 

We will be handing out the T-Shirt (which was part of your registration fee) the week we hand out costumes. This year all of our second dances are all to a different color so the shirts are about color and are written in their class color. They will be wearing these shirt in the recital so please make sure you don't loose them. 

I'll be email the week before we preform at the Retirement home about more details.

For the Monday class only ...with tomorrow being a Holiday we hate for you guys to miss another class and paying the same amount, we want to try and do a make up day. So NO DANCE tomorrow (Monday 18th) we will do a MAKE-UP day on TUESDAY the 19th. We want to just try this and see if it works, if not with February having another Monday Holiday we will just have you pay less, but if the make up day works we will try this again so the girls can get the practice they need in class. So for MONDAY 4:30 class they will come on TUESDAY at 6:30 and for the MONDAY 5:30 they will come TUESDAY at 5:30. Please let me know if there is a problem. We hope this is okay. Thanks.

Also just a reminder that costume two will be due from February to the end of March. For most  classes not listed below your total is $35.00 and this is covering your second costume they will be wearing. The classes listed below are a little more. If there is a problem or concern please call me and I can explain why the cost is a little more.  

Monday 4:30       - $40.00

Wednesday 4:30 - $42.00

Thursday 4:30 -     $40.00

Thursday 5:30 -     $42.00

Also make sure you get the recital date on your calendar. Its the first SATURDAY in JUNE. Its June 4th at 6:30 p.m. with the dress rehearsal that same day. 

This coming week we are going to be trying costume 1 on the girls for alterations so please try and have your girls at dance this week. We will be preforming dance 1 the end of February at an retirement home. More details in February. 

Also just a reminder for the little girls classes, please take them to the bathroom before dance. My teachers are spending a lot of time in the bathrooms helping girls. Also try not to drop off girls to early to dance class, as well as try and be on time for picking up. Thanks. 

Just remember that our parking lot is super icy with it never getting much sun on it. So just be carful pulling in and with girls walking. Sorry.

Just a reminder dance starts back up this week. Hope everyone had a fun and relaxing vacation. Reminder Tuition is due by the 7th of each month. 

Each class will start working on their second dance this month, and will keep practicing the first dance. We are hoping to preform at the retirement homes in February, I will get you more imformation on that as soon as I know.
